Merilampi represents Kesko in its acquisition of the foodservice wholesaler Heinon Tukku Oy from the family-owned company Tukkuheino Oy and private individuals. Kesko will also assume ownership of Kalavapriikki Oy, a company specialised in fish processing, and the delivery and cash and carry outlet properties in Espoo, Helsinki, Kuopio and Vantaa.

Heinon Tukku is one of the leading foodservice market operators in the Helsinki region. The company employs some 450 people. The combined net sales of Heinon Tukku and Kalavapriikki Oy were EUR 264 million in 2018.

The completion of the acquisition is subject to the approval of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority and the fulfilment of other terms and conditions of the transaction. The transaction is expected to be completed during 2019.
