We represented Citycon in the Sale of Columbus Shopping Center to NREP
Merilampi represented Citycon in its sale of the Columbus shopping center in Vuosaari, Helsinki, to the Nordic real estate investment and development company NREP. The gross purchase price was EUR 106.2 million.
The shopping center, built in 1996 and expanded in 2005, has a total of approximately 22,000 square meters of retail space, including several grocery stores and restaurants. Citycon, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, is a leading owner, manager, and developer for urban living including retail, office space and housing in the Nordic region, with assets that total approximately EUR 4.5 billion. Citycon’s centers are in urban hubs with a direct connection to public transport and the company owns or controls several dozen shopping centers in the Nordic countries and Estonia. It is the market leader in Finland and its largest holdings in Finland are Iso Omena in Espoo and Trio on Lahti.
NREP is the leading privately held real estate investment and development company in the Nordic countries, founded in 2005. The company operates extensively in the areas of property ownership and development, focusing on e.g., modern logistics and retail real estate. The value of the company’s assets under management totals approximately EUR 12.5 billion and, in addition to Finland, it manages real estate in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Poland.
