Merilampi represented Meridiam SAS and YIT Finland Ltd and the project company established by them in the PPP project concerning eight schools and day care centers in Espoo municipality.

The deal in question is the first social public private partnership in Finland.

The service agreement signed by City of Espoo’s Public Utilities Services, Premises Department and our clients’ Kumppanuuskoulut Ltd entered into force on 9 June 2020. The agreement includes design, construction, funding and maintenance of the school and day care centers, with a service period that lasts until year 2042.

The project concerns school and day care center facilities in several areas of Espoo: Perkkaa, Nauriskaski, Nöykkiönniitty, Pohjois-Tapiola, Kuitinmäki and Kilo. The buildings will open for operation during years 2022–2024.

The bank financing for the endeavour is provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and OP Corporate Bank Plc.
